ET on Memorial Day

Last Picture of Sis Rob as my companion
My week is starting out interesting, I am getting transferred after emailing today, or like we call it, ET (Emergency Transferred) The mission president called us at 10pm last night to give us the news.  I will be serving in Nampa West, so I will be in a different zone.  I cried most of the night, but I am really calm today.

My new companion is going to be Sister Dickson.  She has been out a little bit longer than I have.  I met her this morning and she is so sweet! I’m gonna miss Sis. Rob, but I will probably see her next week since all the missionaries come here to the genealogical library to email on Mondays, at least the ones here in Nampa.  I don’t know how far away my new area will be and a member will be taking us.

New Haircut
I did get my haircut, so that is good because guess what?  I am in a biking, walking area now.  They already have a bike and helmet for me in the new area. (They will soon find out how bikes and I get along) I was going to get my haircut last week, but decided against it, and this week was less likely because of Memorial Day, so being able to get my haircut today was a miracle.  I had it done at the salon inside Walmart this morning and I love it!

I did receive both the CD’s and letters with the articles, I absolutely loved it. (We listened to most of the music already)

We may have gained a new investigator.

My favorite part of last week was being able to give lots of service.
My least favorite part of last week was being sick on Saturday and finding out that I was getting transferred on Sunday.

Something that touched my spirit was seeing an investigator who we hasn’t been in contact with us forever.

The Turtle
A couple of things made me laugh this week.  Sister Rob and I were surprised by a sprinkler and, while we were driving we saw turtle and Sis Rob stopped to pick it up.  We kept it for the rest of the night and then let it go. Lol It’s the first time I had seen a turtle here.

Something that I am currently struggling with is accepting things that are out of my control.

My health could be better, I am starting to get a sore throat in the morning and yes, I am still taking my vitamins.

I’m really not sure what this week has in store for me.

I gotta go!  Love Ya!

Just a Regular Week

A Healthy Meal we made this week
May 12th through May 19th
This past week was pretty much the same.

I did received the articles you sent and yes, we read every article and we loved it!

Our investigators are the same.  We have 6 part member families, but not a lot of potential right now.  We did receive a new ward mission leader, so we are pretty excited about that.

I received a letter from the mission home, and I am going to the temple on the 29th!

Sister Rob and I are awesome.  We study just about everything during study time.  I did receive the CD player and we actually used it today.

Least favorite part of last week was transfers because I don’t like seeing some people leave.

My favorite day of last week was Saturday because we did two services in a row.  We helped paint a house and then we moved rocks and wood-chips.

Something that made me laugh is that we invited the elders to a ward service project, so they came to help out.  To our surprise, the bishop told Sister Rob and I, that we worked harder than the elders combined. Lol Then he announced he announced that during ward council. Lol.

Something that challenged me this week was following the spirit one day.  We were just out of sync that day and it really took a toll on us.

Something that touched me this week was we were finally able to get into a house that had been really hard to get into, and it was just perfect.

My health is fine, just my allergies that I have to worry about, but the weather has been actually really nice.
I have to wait to get my haircut because the member who does it hurt her arm and she has to take a break for two weeks. (I was just a little sad)

Today for p-day we are having a picnic and playing games.  I am looking forward to zone conference on Wednesday.

Well, I gotta go.  Love ya!

Struggled This Week

Mother’s Day skyping was great. Sister Robinson’s family is just like her…funny, goofy, and very musical.

After skyping, the rest of the night was awesome.  We played dominos and had a barbeque however, I did get a little hole in my shirt thanks to a fire pit.  We were barbequing brats.  It’s all good, I have new shirts and a skirt, so I am excited about that.
Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera today due to lack of sleep.  Sorry!

Least favorite part of last week was Wednesday.  The area has been interesting and I had been stressing out because I had no idea how to help it become better.  Our appointment for that day cancelled on us, so yeah, bad day.  To top it off, I had stopped asking the Lord for help, yeah not good. I had had a really bad day, and I was really upset by the end of the night.  Everything just kept piling up on me and I had had it!  It has been difficult staying in the same area for five month, but you know, the longer I stay, the more I learn.

Something touching that happened to me this week was on Friday.  I was so sick and it was because I had been worrying about a lot of things that I had not control of.  It had finally gotten to a low point, so me and Sister Robinson prayed and I finally started to feel peace, I wasn’t feeling bad anymore.  Something that made me laugh this week is that Sister Rob decided she would drive down a street on the wrong side; we had a good laugh.

My favorite part of last week was Saturday.  We got to help with yard work and then in the evening we got to sing at a fireside.

Our goals of this week is to visit new people in our ward.

I am getting my hair trimmed next Monday by a lady in our ward, she does it for free.

Well, I’ve got to go now.  Love ya!

Hectic Week

This is the picture I owed
from Easter.
Our week was hectic.  P-day last week was fun.  We actually helped sing a song with the elders.  It was hymn #52, The Day Dawn is Breaking.  The elders have been singing and recording songs for a while and so they asked us to help them with this one.  I'll have to see about getting a copy.

We had sister's conference on Tuesday which was awesome.  Somehow when I was decorating at the conference I received some nice puncture wounds from slamming my ankle into some screws protruding out of a ladder.  Yah, it hurt!

With our investigators, some are progressing and some are not.

My least favorite part of last week was Wednesday, but it was also the day that really touched my spirit.  We are really struggling to visit people.  Our zone leader recently asked us to pray about why we are here on a mission and why we are in the area we are currently in.  So because Wednesday was such a sucky day, we did that.  I tell you I felt the spirit so strong as I prayed.  After my first prayer, I started crying and I couldn't seem to stop, so I prayer again.  This time I was prompted to read in John about the atonement.  I was confused because I had recently read that passage, but then it hit me.  I had been really hard on myself lately and I would constantly ask forgiveness for my faults.  In that moment, I realized God was telling me to stop tearing myself down.  He knew I was trying, and he loved me for that, but I needed to forgive myself for my weaknesses.

On Friday, for skill check, we played a game called "Kings Cup". Basically there are cards all around this huge cup.  Each person has a smaller cup.  The object of the game is to not get the fourth king because then you have to drink from the "Kings Cup".  What made it even worse was that the "Kings Cup" was filled with chocolate milk and fruit punch tang, which isn't good when combined.  Luckily I did not lose, but another elder did.  lol

My favorite part of last week was Saturday; we did a lot of service that day.  We helped someone move and then we helped another person pull weeds.

Today for p-day, the zone is having a farewell party for an elder that is going home.  I do not know the elder, but my companion does.  Transfer calls are this Saturday.

According to what I am hearing, we are allowed to Skype for 45 minutes on Mother's Day.  Apparently we will do it at 3 o'clock right after church ends and we will probably do it at a member's house.  I'm not sure how it will work yet, but I will call you before.

Love Ya!  I will talk to you on Sunday!
