Snow is Cold!

OK, so this week was interesting.  All of our appointments on Sunday fell through; including dinner, but it was all good.

On Sunday I stayed awake in the first sacrament meeting, but I feel asleep in the second one.  My wards are great here.  They are helping with the less active families.

My favorite part of last week was visiting the families in our wards.

My least favorite part of last week was the snow.  It snowed heavily on Sunday and it was cold!  My feet are freezing because my boots won't stay buttoned.

On p-days we wash the car, go shopping, do laundry, email, clean the room and write letters.  Sometimes we have zone activities, but that rarely happens.

My companion and I really enjoy each other's company and we enjoy listing to each other.  There has been no change to the district, but we do have new missionary training this week.

Some of the healthy foods that I have enjoyed lately are broccoli, carrots, seedpods etc.  I have a water bottle that I try to refill every hour.  I am currently suffering from really bad allergies, which probably explains why my stomach hurts when I eat.  I should be OK, I still have Allerclear.  We'll see what happens, hopefully it will all go away.

I read every article I receive, and sometimes I read them over again.  I really enjoy them.

I believe I have received every letter that has been sent so far, and yes, I read them as soon as I get them.

OK, I gotta go.

Love ya!

Awesome Week!

Alright, answer to the first question, this week has been awesome!  We have been getting referrals every other day and we have gotten five new investigators this past week.  We have taught a person each day so our planner is pretty full.  I still don't know about the iPads, it's been rumored maybe April.  We do not get to Facebook in this mission, bummer.  The wards her are awesome, they always want to help.

I have met my district and it is just me, my companion and then the elders.  They are total goofballs, period.  :)

I love my companion!  We had a companion inventory and cleared up some things.  Companion study is just fine. Living with a member is fine.  She is really nice and we only usually see her at night since she works.  I have my own cupboard and everything is safe and yes, we share a bathroom.

It did snow here this morning and I do not like the fog here.  It is very difficult to see.  Since we have a car, my companion drives and I sort of navigate.

I do receive every package, but could you please send then through USPS.  If you don't, we have to go to the mission home to pick them up which takes away the miles we are allotted on our car, which gives us less miles to see people.  Yes, I go the socks and the coat fits fine. lol, I laughed when I got it because the elders were like, why do you get a coat?  I just laughed and said because my mom loves me.  The coat keeps me really warm which I absolutely love and it detaches and becomes two coats. Thank you!

My hair is fine, but my bangs are still driving me crazy, they may just get cut shorter.

My least favorite part of last week was walking for three miles because we were low on miles on our car and my favorite part of last week was even though we were low on miles, we were able to see everyone we wanted to.  The only thing I can think of that I am struggling with is staying attentive during the second sacrament meeting.

Well, I've gotta go.
Love ya!!!

Nampa, Idaho

My first week in Idaho was fine.  We have been visiting people nonstop.  There are a couple of people we are teaching.  One is a referral from missionary headquarters, another is a less active  family where dad is a member, but the kids are not.  They are great kids and very willing to learn.  They'be committed to a baptismal date of February 22.  The last family we are teaching is also a part member family with a special older boy and they are a very sweet family.

I did let the mission president know about my issues with bikes and he said that he usually has sisters in a driving or walking area.  So, I am in a driving area and I believe we serve in North Nampa.  We cover two wards, the 16th ward and the 21st ward, which means two sacraments.  The members in this area feed us a lot.

All letters and packages should be sent to the mission home and then they will get them to us.  The mission does not have iPads, yet.  I do not know who is in my district yet, but I do know who is in my zone and they are really fun and goofy.  The remind me of both my zones from the Tempe mission.

My companion and I are fine.  She loves choir and singing, is a hard worker and very obedient.  She has been out three months.

OK, my least favorite part of last week would have to be saying goodbye to my district from the MTC and my favorite part of this week was visiting people.

I have received everything you have sent.  Thank you for sending Olaf, I laughed when I saw him.

Love,
Sis. Donner

Nampa, Idaho

Hi,

Well we arrived safely in Boise, Idaho. lol  About the plane ride, I know I will not go on an airplane unless absolutely necessary.  I sat next to one of the elders from my district, Elder Ross and the whole time he kept encouraging me to look out the window which unfortunately did very little to help with my motion sickness.

We were picked up at the airport in Boise and then driven to Nampa which wasn't a long drive.  Later today I will get the package you sent, it arrived today.  I also got a package from Grandma.  Please tell her thank you!  I still have the reputation for the most letters in a day.  Something they told us about the mail is to sent it USPS priority.

I live with a member and she is really nice.  My new companion's name is Sister Dunkle and she is from Fresno, California.  She is nice and for our first day we have been shoveling snow.  It has been interesting doing that...especially with a broom. lol

I hope all is well and that you have a great week!

Love ya,

Sister Donner

Christmas at the MTC

We did really well at our choir performance on Christmas Eve, sorry you were not able to find the channel we were broadcasting on.  Elder Bednar spoke to us on missionary work during Christmas!

I did receive the socks you sent, thank you so much!  I also received the letters from the ward too.  It was a lot and I read every one of them.
I don't know if we will be able to call from the airport when we leave to go to Idaho, I will have to ask.

My favorite part of the MTC would have to be the investigators.  They are all so different and the spirit is so strong when we teach them.

One sad thing that I will have to say that I dislike very much is the trial of sickness we have had to face here at the MTC.

I have to say that having had the opportunity to serve a mini mission and then coming here to the MTC has caused my testimony to grow a lot.

Have a great week!

Love,
Sister Donner
