Busy Week...

Our Youngest Investigator
This week has been a little interesting, but we kept busy.

My companion and I sang in sacrament meeting yesterday which wasn't bad.

My favorite pare of this week was Tuesday because we got a call out of the blue and we ended up teaching a boy who is so spiritual and smart.  Something that touched me while we were teaching this boy is that he asked so really profound questions that usually would come from adults.  It just made me realize how close children really are to God.

Our other investigators are both doing well.  Justin is progressing, but Richard is stuck, but we are working on it.

I did get the shirts and I love them.

I honestly haven’t had any time to shop for anything but the basics.  I've been thinking about what I will buy when we go shopping.

I did get the CD’s, thank you!  It really helped to have them at this time.

This last week with my companion we are going to just do normal missionary work.  However, we will have an open house which is when the church gives tours around the church explaining the different rooms.  It should really be fun.

I have found myself thinking about who my new companion will be; this Saturday is transfer calls.

I have been thinking a lot about the scriptures in general.  I am currently reading the epistles of Paul and they are really interesting.  I've also been reading my patriarchal blessing a lot, and I’ve noticed a lot of things that it talks about that have happened.

Our district is doing fine.  We did hear that our area may be split and we may just have one ward to cover.  We have 10 missionaries going home and 17 new missionaries coming in.

Worst part of this past week was Saturday because nobody was home and it was HOT!

Well, I guess this is it for today.

Have a great week!

Good Week!

Alright, so this week has been good.  We are doing a lot of good things in this area.

Sister Dickson actually still has two more weeks left of her mission.  Transfers are on August 4th.  So something that I am struggling with is not over working myself and being satisfied with the work we are doing. Sister Dickson wants to finish her mission strong.  She is struggling with her health daily, but she pushes through it.

My least favorite part of last week was Tuesday because I was sick for half the day and couldn't do missionary work. My health is so-so, but it is getting better.  I have found that when I am stressed that I get physically ill and it messes with my appetite.

The heat isn't so bad, but I did get sunburned doing yard work on Wednesday.

Something that was humbling to me was on Thursday me and my companion were both emotionally drained and I was weighed down by worries about home and stuff, and I finally couldn't take it.  I was prompted by the spirit to get down on my knees and pray and I basically laid my burdens down at the Lords feet.  At the same time there was music in the background that was talking about Gods mercy and I started bawling.

Favorite part of last week was Sunday because it was awesome and it rained!  I do stay awake for both sacraments every Sunday because it is FREEZING in there!  We taught a lesson to our two new investigators and the spirit was so strong.  (And I ate chocolate! Lol)   My companion and I also made faces with little kids on Sunday after dinner.

Missionary work is awesome!  We are teaching three new people now and ones is an 18 year old less active.  So everything is great!

I have three things to look forward to this week.  First, Family Home Evening tonight which is basically have fun with one of our wards.  Second, we are teaching one of our golden investigators, and third, we are going to be playing basketball with one of our potential investigators.

Well I Love YA!!!!

Too Darn Hot!

My health is doing well.  Since it has been getting hot here, my allergies are not so bad.  I have gotten dehydrated twice.

Interviews with the Mission President went fine.  He says he is grateful that my companion and I are obedient.

There are only 8 in my district now, but it is awesome; we all get along.

Sis. Dickson is struggling with her health, but she doesn't let it get her down.  She only has two weeks left before she goes home; she is finishing strong.

Favorite part of last week was Saturday.  We were able to contact three referrals with a return appointment in only 30 minutes.  Can you say awesome!

Least favorite part of last week was Saturday because I was dehydrated and couldn't seem to keep cool. It is hard to stay cool when you can't wear shorts and have to dress professionally.

Something that was humbling to me was Sunday they talked about gifts and talents and early that morning I had read about not denying your gifts because they were given to you by God and recently I haven’t been using one of my gifts, so yeah.

Emotionally I have been riding this roller-coaster of self-doubt...But I have stopped that completely and I have started recognizing the things I have been blessed with, and reading my patriarchal blessing has helped me gain more confidence of my self-worth and how God sees me.

Something that made me laugh this week was it was my turn to say prayer and I couldn't stop laughing, so my companion had to say it instead.

This p-day we will finish up a project of Sis. Dickson’s.  She is making plaques for her family members and it’s almost done.  Then we will go to our zone activity which will be basketball or volleyball, and then shopping.  Lol, not too exciting.

We have a full week ahead.  We have two new investigators, and they are brothers.  One wants to be baptized, and the other is a little more hesitant.

Love ya,

Awesome 4th of July!

Alright, so this week was interesting.
Sister Dickson was sick for two and a half days.  So I was cooped up inside and it literally drove me nuts.  On top of that, the adversary was working double time for me. We are having great success in our area and so we are getting hit hard with anxiety and self-doubt. I received an amazing priesthood blessing by one of our members who is amazing and has helped me and my companion a lot.

We also had an awesome 4th of July and fast Sunday, they were my favorite art of the week.

My least favorite part of the week was Saturday, it was just really a hard day for both of us, but in the end it all worked out for the best.

This week we will have interviews with the mission president and we have a lot of lesson lined up.  Today we are teaching two boys from a less active family, so we are pretty excited about that.

Well I gotta go.

Love ya!

Great Week!

June 30, 2014

We had a great week!
It was Sister Dickson's birthday on Friday.  I made her an M&M trail leading from the bedroom to her presents.  It was really fun.

My least favorite part of last week was Sunday because I had a really bad headache in the morning and continued through both wards…not fun. :(

My favorite part of last week was the rest of the week, we had a great week, and we officially have a new investigator.

Something that touched me last week is that in church yesterday I got three hugs from children, and one “I love you” from a little girl.Something that made me laugh this week was me trying to put in new sprinklers for our new investigator.  Let’s just say I couldn’t get anything unscrewed; it was funny!  The sprinklers do work.  Shane it the investigator who we have taught the doctrine of Jesus Christ.  He is just so awesome and has great potential.

The picture is from our baptism last week.

I gotta go!  Love ya!
