Much Better Week!

Investigator Chris
I had a better week this week.  We have a new investigator named Chris and she is absolutely golden.  She has researched our religion and knows she wants to be Mormon.  The other investigator that was golden moved. :(

Saturday we did get to see the ground breaking ceremony for the Meridian Idaho Temple at the stake center.

So my favorite part of last week was yesterday, even though we spent 6 hours at church, but it was worth it.  The reason it was my favorite day of the week is because we had breakfast for dinner.  It was delicious!

My least favorite day of last week was Friday because Sis. Fonua and I had really bad stomach aches.  Sis. Fonua ended up throwing up breakfast.  On top of that, my left leg kept me up half the night because it was in pain.  (I’m really not sure what I did to it.)  My left knee cap will hurt and then pain shoots down my leg and it feels like I pulled a muscle in my ankle. It’s a pain and it is driving me nuts!

I am not really sure what is going on with our district since missed district meeting on Friday because we were both sick.

Something funny that happened this week is, well there are actually three things.  First, yesterday we were reading a scripture in class about the Sabbath day and keeping it holy.  Well, Sis. Fonua was reading and she turns to me and asked what one of the words said.  She was pointing at  the word that meant donkey, but it didn’t have the word donkey, it was a##.  I wasn’t going to say the word in class, so I was sitting there, not sure what to say.  Then in unison the whole class says DONKEY.  Then we all laughed!  Second funny moment from last week is I scared Sis. Fonua coming out of the bathroom; she almost fell down.  Hahaha.  The third funniest moment was while we were walking an older gentleman looked at both me and my companion and said, “Looking good ladies!”  Sis. Fonua and I nearly died laughing.

Wednesday it was pretty hot and so I had pulled my hair up, so it didn’t look that good.  Anyways, while we were walking three girls from our ward came up and told us they loved us and thought we looked beautiful today.  It was the sweetest thing.

Oh, I got a back massage from a lady who does it professionally and she told me I have a really bad back.  Happy news to hear. Lol

Anyways, we have a few things we are looking forward to this week.  We have an open house and we get to go to a baptism of a less active member’s daughter.  The ward mission leader has encouraged us to visit all the members. Today we have lesson with our investigator at 3 and then we have an exchange.

Eeek! It’s time for me to go!

LOVE YA!

Hardest Week So Far...

This by far has been the hardest week for me.

Church was really good yesterday.  In sacrament meeting the topic was on Courage.

I think my favorite part of last week was Tuesday because our referral was a little girl who is the daughter of a member from my last area who has moved into my new area.  It was really neat.

Wednesday we basically walked 5 miles on rocky ground and we barely saw anyone.  I feel like we really didn’t do much of anything this week.  This has just been the hardest week.  I don’t know whether it is because I am not doing enough, or what.  I am trying to figure out what we can do.  I have counseled with my companion, but not my district or ward mission leader.

Saturday, hands down, was the worst part of my week.  Nobody was home or answering and it was really hot!  We tried visiting nine families!  And yes, I am drinking plenty of water.  We have been having thunderstorms like every other day and hail on Thursday night.

Something that touched my spirit was reading my scriptures yesterday, and remembering something that I learned from it, and sharing it with a family.

Something that made me laugh yesterday was when we were going to wash our hands before dinner and the bathroom door is close to the front door.  Well Sis. Fonua, instead of opening the bathroom door, she opens the front door and almost goes out. It was funny.

My district is fine.  We had a good district meeting and I think we all get along well.
There is a ground breaking ceremony for the Meridian temple that we get to view at our stake center.

My companion and I are fine emotionally and mentally, but…on Sunday morning my left knee was killing me and now my whole left leg hurts when I walk on it.  Now, my companion has pulled a muscle in her ankle. Joy!

I did get my hair cut last week, but I didn’t get new shoes.  I was a little shocked at how short my hair was cut in the back, but its fun to try new things.

I have not received the CD’s you sent yet.

Bye,

Sis. Donner

Interesting Week

So this week was interesting for me, but I think I’ve got a handle on things for now.  I am pretty much in charge of everything, like literally everything.  I’m working on not being completely overwhelmed by it.

Sister Fonua is very easy going and is so loving. My favorite thing about my companion is that she is really sweet and just a big teddy bear.  She has three older brothers and her family moved from Tonga to Salt Lake City.  She served her mission for 6 months in Tonga, then went to the MTC, and then came to the Nampa Idaho Mission.

Our current Zone leaders are a lot different than the lasts ones which is great.  They are more relaxed and dare I say obedient.  We don’t have a zone conference until September 2.  We currently have 30 in our zone now!

It is different covering one ward, but we get a lot done just covering the one ward.  Sunday everyone from the other ward were telling us how much they missed us.

We received a referral that we are going to teach tomorrow.  The rest of our investigators are pretty good.  One is actually avoiding us, not sure why.

My favorite part of last week was Saturday because we had a full day just visiting people and I have a sunburn on the back of my neck to prove it.   I am putting gel on it.  For the record, I did put sunscreen on…it didn’t work.  I burn more when I put it on then when I don’t.

My least favorite part of last week was Thursday because I woke up with a headache that wouldn't go away and I was overly stressed, so after dinner we went home.

Something that just really touched me this week was on Saturday I read the talk you sent me which I totally needed at that moment, and I felt Heavenly Father in my thoughts telling me that everything was going to be OK.

So the one thing that made me laugh this week was at a dinner appointment there was a two year old talking about what ants do and he said something about what red ants eat that I will not repeat.  Needless to say, we were all shocked and started laughing really hard.

I did receive the package and I loved everything, especially the necklace and skirt.  I may need new shoes, but I will get them here.

Emotionally it was a roller-coaster this week, but I am good today.  Physically I am a little sore this week because I over stretched doing exercises.

Sister Fonua is always taking funny pictures  :)
My plans for today are to go shopping and I might possible get my hair trimmed today.  I’m not going to cut it super short, but maybe a little short.  We will probably go to the zone activity which is basically the same thing every week, basketball or volleyball.  Then we are going to a member’s house for dinner.  That’s pretty much it.

Love Ya!

Changes...

I got up at 4:45am today so Sister Dickson would get to the transfer spot on time. (So I am tired)

My mission president things I am strong and awesome to help Sister Dickson finish strong.  I can’t help being hard on myself.  I try to see myself as the Lord does, but it’s still hard sometimes.

Our area is now split and my zone leaders actually cover the other ward.  I don’t actually know either of my zone leaders, but I hear they are good.  We actually have the area with investigators.  Our investigators are doing so-so.  We really haven’t been able to teach them because of something always coming up.

I did receive the envelope with the CD.  Thank you for all the articles and pictures!

My new companion is Sister Funua.  She is Tongan and a big sweetie.  She was in the MTC with me.  I will send a picture of her next time.  She doesn’t have any dietary restrictions and so I am actually getting some chocolate today, just not a lot.

My whole district changed and I am basically the only one in my last district that didn’t change, so yep, this should be interesting.

So, my least favorite part of last week was Thursday because I was in charge of our area while Sister Dickson went to the temple.  (Missionaries going home get to go to the temple)  I was really stressed.  I got lost three times and I ran out of people to see. I basically failed. I was not impressed with my planning skills.

Saturday we were basically exhausted because of visiting so many members.  We actually went to the church and slept for thirty minutes on the relief society floor.

Sunday was awesome.  I was really touched watching one of our investigators bare their testimony.

I honestly have no idea what we will be doing today because of transfers.  We might just end up chilling out at our house.  We have zone meeting this week and I am looking forward to that.

I gotta go…LOVE YA!!!
